the national weather service in columbia has issued an

* urban and small stream flood advisory for minor flooding of poor
  drainage areas in...
  chesterfield county in central south carolina...
  lancaster county in central south carolina...
  this includes the city of lancaster...

* until 330 am edt

* at 137 am edt weather service radar showed moderate to heavy 
rainfall in slow moving showers and thunderstorms across northern 
lancaster and northwestern chesterfield counties.  isolated rainfall 
amounts of 2 to 3 inches has already fallen...with an additional 1 
to 2 inches of rainfall possible the next hour or two.  this will 
cause flooding of poor drainage and low-lying areas along area 
roadways and streams. 

precautionary/preparedness actions...

excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams...and ponding of water on country roads and
farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.

do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. the water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. move to higher ground.

report large hail...damaging winds or flooding to your county
sheriff...or use www.facebook.com/nwscolumbia and email
caewx@noaa.gov to relay severe weather reports.

the national weather service in greenville-spartanburg has issued a

* flood advisory for heavy rainfall in...
  union county in the piedmont of north carolina...

* until 330 am edt

* at 117 am edt...national weather service doppler radar indicated
  thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the advisory area. doppler
  radar estimated that between one to two inches of rain has fallen  
  over much of the union county north carolina since mid night.      
  additional rainfall amounts of one to two inchs are likely over    
  the next several hours.

* runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to
  occur...especially along small streams and near low water
  crossings. some locations that will experience minor flooding
  include...fairview...hemby bridge...lake park...marvin...mineral
  springs...stallings...sturdivants...waxhaw and wesley chapel.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

excessive runoff from this storm will cause minor flooding of small
creeks and streams...country roads...as well as farmland along the
banks of creeks and streams.

be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. if flooding is observed act quickly. do not
drive through areas where water covers the roadway.

  radar estimated between one and two inches of rain has fallen over 
  eastern portions of the chester county within the past hour. an    
  additional inch is likely through 2am.

* runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to
  occur...especially along small streams and near low water
  crossings. some locations that will experience minor flooding
  include...fishing creek reservoir...fort lawn and richburg.
