the regularly scheduled surf zone forecast will be temporarily 
discontinued as long as hurricane maria threatens the north
carolina coast. 

please refer to the hurricane local statement issued by the 
national weather service in wakefield, va for the latest watches 
and warnings in the area. the surf zone forecast will resume in 
its normal format after the tropical threat has ended.
