...the flood warning continues for the following rivers in 

  roanoke (staunton) river at randolph affecting charlotte and 
  halifax counties.

for the roanoke river...including roanoke, pigg r nr sandy level, 
altavista, brookneal, randolph...minor flooding is forecast.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

...the flood warning is now in effect until tomorrow evening...

the flood warning continues for
  the roanoke (staunton) river at randolph.
* until wednesday evening.
* at 7:45 pm est tuesday the stage was 25.8 feet.
* flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* recent activity...the maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 7:45 pm est tuesday was 25.8 feet.
* forecast...the river is expected to fall below flood stage 
  tomorrow morning and continue falling to 7.3 feet sunday evening.
* impact...at 25.0 feet, water is several feet deep on portions of 
  river road and black walnut road.
* flood history...this crest compares to a previous crest of 25.7 
  feet on 12/31/1958.
