4/18/13: The pier lost its last 280ft, including our weather station, after the storm. The owners hope to reopen by Memorial Day, and at that time, we will reinstall the weather station. We apologize for the inconvenience.

"In Season" the OC beach patrol is on duty from 10am to 5:30pm and kiters are not allowed on the ocean during that time. Only a few miles north is Dewey Beach area with bayside and oceanside launch. Plenty of parking, bathrooms, bayside beach launch area, a few picnic tables & grills. For accomodations, Francis Scott Key Family Resort is managed by local kiters Jim & Annemarie.
Excellent thermals in the summer.
Very shallow conditions but generally no hidden sandbars.
Generally better surf conditions on the ocean side than in Delaware.
