...an area of heavier snow moving through this morning...
as of 910 am, national weather service doppler radar and surface
reports indicated an area of heavier snow moving across the area.
the snowfall rates will be up to an inch per hour at times, which
will reduce the visibilities to one half mile or less. the
combination of increased snowfall rates and temperatures below
freezing will result in hazardous road conditions.
if you must travel, slow down. use extra caution especially on
bridges and other elevated surfaces and be prepared for poor road
conditions and visibilities.

...a band of heavy snow across much of the philadelphia metro
area...
as of 850 am, national weather service doppler radar and surface
reports indicated an intensifying band of heavy snow. the most
intense portion of the band was located from chester county to
montgomery and philadelphia counties. the band is moving to the
east northeast to monmouth county, and will also overspread
portions of southwestern new jersey through 10 am.
the snowfall rates within the heaviest portion of the band will
exceed an inch per hour, which will reduce the visibilities to one
quarter mile or less. the combination of increased snowfall rates
and temperatures falling below freezing will result in hazardous
road conditions.
if you must travel, slow down. use extra caution especially on
bridges and other elevated surfaces and be prepared for poor road
conditions and visibilities.
