...a prolonged period of hazardous seas is anticipated through at
least next thursday...

.post-tropical cyclone jose will likely keep seas at or above
5 feet through saturday morning then swells from maria will start
building and become noticeable this weekend. powerful southeast
swells from hurricane maria will probably exceed 10 feet around
tuesday and wednesday of next week with a 15-second period.

...small craft advisory for hazardous seas remains in effect
until 6 am edt sunday...

* location...the atlantic coastal waters of new jersey and 

* seas...3 to 6 feet.

* winds...north 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt.

* outlook...swells from maria will determine if there is any brief
  lull below 5 foot seas sunday. next week, southeast swells will
  likely exceed 10 feet in the atlantic waters tuesday and 

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a small craft advisory for hazardous seas means that waves are
expected to be hazardous to small craft. mariners should avoid
shoaling areas where long period swells can sharpen into large
breaking waves.
