* locations...litchfield county connecticut.
* hazard types...snow.
* accumulations...4 to 6 inches. the highest amounts will be in
southeastern parts of the county.
* timing...snow will spread from southeast to northwest across
litchfield county this morning. periods of light snow will
occur during the afternoon and evening hours...and taper off
tonight.
* impacts...snow covered roadways and poor visibility will make
for hazardous travel at times.
* winds...northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
* temperatures...in the mid to upper 20s.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. be prepared for snow

* accumulations...snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches.
* timing...snow will fall heavy at times through mid afternoon
before diminishing in intensity by early evening.
* impacts...travel will be slow at best on well treated
surfaces...and quite difficult on any unplowed or untreated
surfaces.
* winds...north 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* temperatures...in the mid 20s.
* visibilities...one quarter to one half mile at times.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a winter storm warning is issued when an average of 6 or more
inches of snow is expected in a 12 hour period...or for 8 or more
inches in a 24 hour period. travel will be slow at best on well
treated surfaces...and quite difficult on any unplowed or
