...areas of black ice expected through 9 am this morning...

the combination of wet pavement from recent precipitation, and
temperatures hovering close to the freezing mark will allow for
the formation of black ice, especially on untreated ground
surfaces, including roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and driveways
across the lake george saratoga region, southeast catskills, and
mid hudson valley.

motorists and pedestrians in these areas should exercise caution
through mid morning and be prepared to encounter areas of icing on
some ground surfaces.

remember, black ice is difficult to see and makes roads and other
ground surfaces very slippery.

...black ice possible on area roadways this morning...

wet grounds from the recent rainfall and fog combined with
temperatures around freezing, will pose the potential for patchy
black ice on area roadways this morning. secondary roads,
walkways, and elevated surfaces such as ramps and bridges are
most susceptible.

motorists need to be extremely alert while traveling this
morning. temperatures will rise above freezing by around 8 am.
