...patchy dense fog this morning...
patchy dense fog continues across parts of eastern iowa and
northwest illinois north of interstate 80 this morning. the fog
will be dense in a few spots, reducing visibility down to a
quarter mile or less, especially in river valleys and other low
lying areas. the patchy nature of the dense fog will result in
rapid fluctuations in visibility over short distances. a few slick
spots are also possible with temperatures below freezing. if
traveling be prepared for sudden changes in visibility. motorists
are urged to slow down, leave plenty of braking distance, and use
low beam headlights.

...patchy dense fog could result in locally hazardous travel
conditions this morning......
light winds resulted in the formation of some fog across the area
overnight. the visibility was sufficient for safe travel in most
areas, but the fog was much more dense at some locations from
wautoma to oshkosh to southern manitowoc county. anyone traveling
through these areas early today should expect to encounter areas
where the visibility is less than 1/4 mile. be sure to slow down
and use your low-beam headlights when driving in fog. conditions
should improve significantly by 900 am.
