...the national weather service in duluth has issued a flood warning 
for the following rivers in minnesota... 

  mississippi river near fort ripley affecting crow wing and morrison
  counties

.snowmelt water and rainfall from monday will flow through 
streams, rivers, and tributaries through this week. the abnormally
warm weather has been steadily melting snow over the past several 
days. this in combination with up to three quarters of an inch of 
rainfall on monday will result in modest rises on the mississippi 
river. water levels are forecast to reach flood stage on friday at
fort ripley. people with interests near area streams and rivers 
are encouraged to monitor the latest forecasts.

the national weather service in duluth has issued a 

* flood warning for 
  the mississippi river near fort ripley.
* from late friday night until further notice.
* at  8:30 am tuesday the stage was 8.4 feet.
* flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* forecast...rise above flood stage by early saturday morning and 
  continue to rise to near 10.6 feet by monday morning.
* at 11.0 feet...this will cause minor flooding of rural areas near 
  fort ripley..
this crest compares to a previous crest of 12.2 feet on may 18 1999.

warning for all or portions of the following rivers in iowa...cedar 
river...

river forecasts include observed precipitation...as well as expected
precipitation over the next 24 hours.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

if you encounter a flooded area...turn around and find an alternate 
route. turn around...do not drown.

the flood warning continues for
  the cedar river at cedar falls...or from the west fork cedar 
  river...to the cedar falls-waterloo city limits.
* until early saturday morning.
* at  3:45 pm tuesday the stage was 86.3 feet...or 1.7 feet below 
  flood stage.
* flood stage is 88.0 feet.
* no flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* forecast...rise to flood stage wednesday morning. continue rising 
  to 89.7 feet...or 1.7 feet above flood stage...midday thursday. 
  then begin falling and go below flood stage early saturday 
  morning.
* impact...at 89.7 feet...water covers the road at 1712 and 1118 
  cottage row road.
