force gusts are expected over the southern two thirds of lake
michigan with this feature in the afternoon and then also across
the northern third by mid evening. winds will become 
northwesterly overnight. the northwest gales will gradually 
diminish from north to south friday morning as strong high 
pressure around 31.0 inches over the northern plains expands into 
the upper midwest. 

the gusty winds, arctic air and elevated wave heights will 
support periods of heavy freezing spray into friday night. a heavy
freezing spray warning is in effect now through early saturday
morning across all of lake michigan.

the high will expand across the great lakes over the weekend,
