occasionally be encountered.

.synopsis...

light west to turning to southerly winds are expected this evening
as a surface ridge around 30 inches crosses the lake. winds will
then quickly increase following the surface ridge overnight and
southerly gales are anticipated to begin during the early morning
hours on sunday. these southerly gales are expected to last until
around midday on sunday, before a lull in wind speeds takes hold
as a cold front moves through. then, west to northwest gales are
expected late saturday afternoon into the overnight hours
following the cold front. a gale warning is in effect for all of
lake michigan from early saturday into early sunday to encompass
both periods of gales.

northwest winds will then slowly ease on sunday as high pressure
of 30.4 inches moves into the upper great lakes region.
