.synopsis...

low pressure of 29.3 inches will track east across lake michigan
this morning, slowly approaching the straits of mackinac by noon
cst today. very strong southwest gusts will quickly come up this
morning over the southern end of the lake an spread northward with
time through the rest of the morning. storm force gusts will
become likely late this morning and into the afternoon over the
southern two thirds of the lake, with high end gales more likely
over the northern third of the lake. 

storm force gusts will then likely ease to high end gales around
midnight tonight, and gales will continue through thursday and
into thursday evening to early friday morning before subsiding
over the lake.

around 29.3 inches. a cold front extending south of the low is 
expected to cross lake michigan tonight, turning winds southwest 
and increasing toward daybreak on wednesday. 

strong west to northwest winds will develop over the lake 
wednesday. expecting storm force gusts for the southern two 
thirds of the lake, where a storm warning is in effect. gale 
force gusts are expected for the northern one third, where a gale
warning is in effect. the strongest winds and highest waves 
should be on the east side of the lake. 

the strong winds veer northwest later wednesday and linger 
through thursday night. winds are expected to decrease below storm
force by daybreak thursday, but gale warnings remain in effect 
thursday into thursday night, as strong northwest winds continue.
winds gradually subside into friday, as high pressure around 30.4
inches builds into the region from the west.
