tonight and sunday morning along with hot and dry conditions...
.strong high pressure will build over the region through the
remainder of this weekend and result in hot and dry conditions by
sunday. in addition...locally strong and gusty north to northeast
winds are forecast to develop in the north bay mountains on
tonight and continue through sunday morning. the strongest winds
are expected over the higher ridges and peaks in northern sonoma
county and northern napa counties. winds are forecast to diminish
sunday afternoon. hot and dry conditions will continue through
north bay mountains-

...red flag warning remains in effect from 9 pm this evening to
3 pm pdt sunday for strong and gusty north to northeast winds and
hot and dry conditions for fire weather zone 507...
* affected area...fire weather zone 507...the north bay
mountains. strongest winds expected above 1500 feet in
northern sonoma county and northern napa county.
* wind...north to northeast winds increasing to 15 to 25 mph
tonight with gusts as high as 45 mph after midnight. winds
remaining strong and gusty through sunday morning and then
slowly diminishing sunday afternoon.
* humidity...relative humidity values dropping to 15 to 25% this
afternoon with little recovery expected above 2000 feet on
saturday night. humidity values forecast to drop to as low as
10% on sunday.
* impacts...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
outdoor burning is not recommended.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or will shortly. a combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
