...the national weather service in jacksonville fl has issued a flood
warning for the following river in georgia...
alapaha river at statenville affecting echols county
.one to two inches of rain fell across southeast georgia
tuesday...and another system is forecast to bring another two inches
of rain on friday. residents along the alapaha river should closely
monitor this situation for the latest forecasts and statements.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
all persons with interest along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property. do not drive cars through flooded areas. if you
see flood waters...remember to turn around and do not drown.

the national weather service in jacksonville fl has issued a
* flood warning for
the alapaha river at statenville.
* from late tonight to saturday afternoon...or until the warning is
* at 10:00 am wednesday the stage was 23.0 feet.
* minor flooding is forecast.
* flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* forecast...rise above flood stage by after midnight tomorrow and
continue to rise to near 24.5 feet by early friday morning. the
river will fall below flood stage by late saturday morning.
* 24.0 feet...approximately 10 structures/residences may
become isolated by rising waters near the county road 150 bridge in
hamilton county, florida. some homes along the river just north of
statenville become isolated.
