739 am pst fri jan 30 2015
...dense fog advisory in effect until noon pst today...
the national weather service san francisco has issued a dense fog
advisory...which is in effect until noon pst today.
fog and stratus is expected to linger over the west delta and
north bay through this morning. visibilities as low as 1/10th of a
mile have been reported in the delta already this morning.
mariners navigating these waters should proceed with extreme
caution as visibilities could rapidly drop without warning.
visibilities are expected to improve 20z/noon local time. patchy
dense fog in the south bay is also possible but not expected to be
nearly as widespread as north of the bay bridge.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
visibility in fog can suddenly drop to near zero making traveling
over the water hazardous at any speed. be prepared for sudden
visibility changes. boaters should allow extra time to reach
their destination.
