.widespread rain is expected with a storm system as it moves
across the region sunday. snow levels will initially be above 
pass levels with this event but will rapidly drop below pass 
levels overnight, and to 5000-6000 feet by monday morning.

motorists traveling into the mountains sunday night into early
monday should be prepared for winter driving conditions. slick 
roads are possible at lower elevations from wet leaves and clogged

precipitation totals:

sunday into monday:
a half inch to 1 inch of rain for the sacramento valley, around 1
to 2 inches for the foothills, with 1 to 3 inches possible in the

6 to 12 inches of snow expected above 7000 feet. a dusting of 
snow possible down to 5000-6000 feet. 

southerly wind gusts to 25 to 35 mph in the sacramento valley and
55 mph over the crest on sunday.
