...wind advisory in effect from 3 am to 4 pm mst tuesday...

the national weather service in phoenix has issued a wind
advisory, which is in effect from 3 am to 4 pm mst tuesday.

* affected area...western la paz and northern yuma counties. this
  includes interstate 10 in western la paz county and highway 95.

* timing...early tuesday morning through mid afternoon.

* winds...northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph.

* impacts...strong northwesterly crosswinds affecting both
  north/south and east/west oriented roads locally reduced
  visibilities due to areas of blowing dust creating hazardous
  driving conditions. high profile vehicles most susceptible.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a wind advisory means that sustained wind speeds of between
30 and 40 mph are expected, or wind gusts of between 40 and
58 mph. winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially
for high profile vehicles. in addition, strong winds over desert
areas could result in briefly lowered visibilities to well under
a mile at times in blowing dust or blowing sand. use extra
caution.
