...very windy across southeast washington this afternoon and

.a cold front traveling south across washington is responsible for
the very windy conditions across portions of southeast washington.
the gusty winds will continue through 7 pm this evening then 
decrease tonight.

lower columbia basin of washington-
foothills of the blue mountains of washington-
including the cities of connell, prosser, tri-cities, dayton, 
waitsburg, and walla walla

...wind advisory in effect until 7 pm pst this evening...

the national weather service in pendleton has issued a wind
advisory...which is in effect until 7 pm pst this evening.

* winds...southwest 30 to 35 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph.

* timing...very windy conditions will continue through 7 pm.

* impacts...gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. tree 
  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. 

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a wind advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. winds
this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high
profile vehicles. use extra caution.
