widespread heavy rain of 1 to 3 inches has fallen across the area over the past 36 hours. additional rainfall amounts of up to a quarter of an inch expected before rain ends early this afternoon. runoff from the rain has caused minor flooding along the rifle river near sterling and this is forecast to continue over the next 36 hours.

* the buffalo river near dilworth affecting clay county
* the two rivers river near hallock affecting kittson county
* the park river at grafton affecting walsh county
* the pembina river at neche affecting pembina county
.river levels remain high on points on the red river and some
tributaries in minnesota and north dakota. with drier weather
over the next few days...river stages should either begin to
recede or continue to recede. any forecast precipitation is not
expected to affect river stages.
this forecast is for a 7 day period...the highest stage indicated
may not reflect the crest for this flood event. forecasts are
updated daily and stage values will change as new weather and
river information is used. this forecast may include any
precipitation expected through the next 72 hours.
