...very cold temperatures tonight into early thursday morning...then
a warming trend for the weekend...
arctic air will settle over the area tonight with low
temperatures dipping into the single digits and teens below zero.
northwest winds of 5 to 10 mph will combine with these
temperatures to produce wind chills in the minus 15 to minus 25
degree range. wind chills around 25 below zero can produce
frostbite within 30 minutes. if venturing out early thursday
morning...be sure to bundle up appropriately.
moderating temperatures will then be seen friday and into the
weekend. look for highs friday in the 30s...with some locations
approaching 40 degrees saturday and sunday.

...one more very cold night before temperatures moderate by the
weekend...
one more very cold night is expected across north-central and
northeast wisconsin. low temperatures tonight should range from
around 5 below zero along the lake shore to around 20 below zero
across north-central wisconsin.
gusty northwest winds will continue to subside this evening and
overnight. the combination of falling temperatures...and diminishing
winds will produce wind chill readings near 20 below zero late
tonight into early thursday morning across northeast wisconsin.
across north-central wisconsin...light winds may produce wind
chills down to around 25 below zero at times late tonight into
early thursday morning. wind chills this low can produce frostbite
within 30 minutes on exposed skin.
it will remain cold on thursday with highs from 10 to 15 degrees...
or about 20 degrees below normal for this time of year. much warmer
weather returns on friday with highs in the upper 20s and lower

...one more very cold night tonight into thursday morning...
wind chill values will drop into the 10 to 20 below zero range
overnight as temperatures plummet into the single digits below
zero. high pressure sliding just to the southwest of wisconsin
will allow for enough of a breeze to create these cold wind
chills. this is the last very cold night for the week and
hopefully for the season as we head into a warmer pattern for
next week.

...special weather statement for vinton and jackson counties
and western portions of athens county in southeast ohio until
645 pm est...
at 141 pm est...rain will continue over the area this afternoon.
this will keep streams, creeks and rivers running high. some
smaller creeks may briefly come out of their banks and cause some
minor water problems.
rain and snow melt will cause water to pond on roads and quickly
fill roadside ditches and small streams.
excessive runoff from rainfall and snow melt will cause elevated
levels on small creeks and streams...and ponding of water on country
roads and farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.
do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. the water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. move to higher ground.
you may report significant weather by posting your report to the
charleston west virginia national weather service facebook page...or
by using the twitter hashtag...nwsrlx.
