Bic Veloce footstrap repair?

1995 Bic Veloce footstrap problem. This board has several steel channels for footstrap inserts (like mini mast tracks). Each channel holds a square nut which slides up and down the channel. Each footstrap contains a screw at each end which goes into each square nut. Problem is the nuts corrode and break over time. Now theres nothing left to screw the straps into. Any advice for a fix?

Bic came out with a kit to convert the mini channels into an anti-twist multi position track. You might want to get hold of Bic and see if they have any remaining kits. I believe the kits were around $35 which also included new foot straps.
