what mast size will give me the most sail range

i have a 6.0 sail and the mast for it, i know i need more sail for the area i sail in and i also want the most options for sails in a mast. am i stuck buying a mast for the 8.0 sail i want to buy or is there a mast size that will let me get close to an 8.0 sail size and still give me options for smaller sails on that mast?

In general terms:
400cm mast for sub 4.0 to 5.0
430 for 4.5 - 6.2
460 6.0-7.5
490++ for biger than that.

There are a few offerings to extend a shorter mast but in practical use they tend not to work very well.

Sometimes you can go smaller than 6.0 with a 460. I use a 460 with a 5.3 and 4.6, but they were designed with that length in mind. rick p
