I am a moderately advanced beginner who just got a really HOT longboard (a Gem). Lessons are not an easy option. I would like some guideance on good instructional videos. Here are my stats:
*3 years experience total about 50 hours (just got my first board)
*59, 175lbs, 31
*old 7.0m2 windwing 4 cam sail
*can get in harness but usually get launched
*zero fear of going fast. love to go fast
*usually sail in pretty flat conditions
*no clue how to gybe on plane
*normally I just tack by heading up hard and sinking the tail. I can run around the mast pretty well

Thanks for the advice.

Nick

Check out Peter Harts video called Turn for the Better. It really helped me. Good luck

I just bought both videos - I think that it is too advanced for Nicks level - though there are always things to learn. For example it assumes you know the flare gybe, beach start and how to use a shortboard in general.. getting into and using a harness etc.

Anything one level below?

Sylvain,
I dont know the displacement. It is a Richard Greene design and it is really floaty--as floaty as a Superlight II.

Windsurfing 101 is a new video that might help.

I like Shortboard sailing Tech 1 & 2 but obviously this is shortboard, not longboard, so thats why I recommend the first video.
