Had to work a contract yesterday and was unable to get out to Dewey for the weekend. Its a shame too, today has been North at 20-25+mph and yesterday was up all day.
Im hoping to head to Hatteras for a week or so late this season (whenever the wind is up... Octoberish?). Anyone interested in joining the search for wind? Whens the best time for wind? Ive gone the past 2 Halloweens and have had 50% sailing conditions (give or take). Any suggestions on what to look for prior to taking the trip (weatherwise)? Other than the stray Hurricane?
later. |

The best time of year is Spring and Fall. When the wind is up in the Summer go for it because it is usually AWSOME! When we get wind at Dewey there is usually a front coming through or a big low pressure system. In august, which is the worst time of year for wind there are usually High pressure systems sitting over the coast which kills wind. Hope to see you there |
