I am thinking about a trip in August and wondered where the best likelihood of good wind is. It looks like Aruba might be OK, but that their best wind was earlier in the summer.
It looks like Maui is strong in August. I got skunked in Maui in December and dont want to repeat that experience.
Any thoughts? |

Skunks in Maui in Dec are a given. Not guaranteed, but expected. Steady Maui wind is a summer thing.
OTOH, August can and should be a major hoot in the Gorge. Or it can bake. Or it can bake and blow yer socks off. There will be wind in August there; how often and how hard varies, but 20 days of hard wind are not unusual. Weve seen daily forecasts most of the month of heat and light wind (meaning 6.0 stuff), all the while sailing 4.0s or smaller for 10 hours a day > 15 days.

| Hi . Aruba in August youll sail on a 6.0m almost every day. Youll get 5.0m days but not as much as in the hi wind season, however the nice part is there is so much more to do in Aruba besides windsurfing if you choose to take a day off from windsurfing. Plus great accomodations, restaurants, and people |
