I am going to vacation in August with my family. I have three young children. I was hoping to find a destination that would be good for them and me (again windsurfing). The location has to be safe, convenient, and have enough wind . We discussed a club med in St lucia since it showed advanced windsurfing. Does anyone know of the location equipment, wind in august, etc? Any other recommendations? Aruba? if so, please recommend specific locations and rental properties if possible.

If your family doesnt enjoy a week or a month in Oregon, theyre brain dead. With 87 things on the To-Do list, from the coast to the Gorge, its a slam dunk.

Check out Lake Floras, southern OR Coast. Great camping, shallow lake sailing for kids or beginners, and yards from great coast sailing. Fun hikes nearby, and a fine doughnut shop in Port Orford.

I agree with the other suggestions here. Lake Flores (Bandon, OR) or the Gorge. There is a camping resort at Mosier with a great hot tub and reasonable rates. Pool for the kids, etc. The Gorge has tons of family activites and is a good bet for wind in august.
