Why are reports in MPH? Are we not sailors? MPH is for stinkpotters.

When the wind varies by 50% every few minutes, whats a measly 15% difference?

I dont think its a big deal, 6076 feet/NM or 5280 feet/M...just know the conversion..about 15% like mike said. Plus who knows where the sensor is? it could be off 15% anyway from where you really sail.

I agree, I consider myself a sailor first and sailors talk kts not mph. When I realized that the sensors read mph I thought it to be very strange for a sport based on sailing.

Do we not use words like luft, starboard, etc.? Tradition is important!
