Bonaire is really close to Aruba, so I am going to extend myself a little bit and say the wind patterns are the same.

So check out his link from Vela that has a graph of the wind conditions for Aruba, and youll have a pretty good idea of what to expect from Bonaire.

Generally, January to August are best. September to December are lite and spotty.

Check out the wind info buried in this page

uh, a bit different.. although the trades may be similar on both islands, bonaire sailing is located on the windward side, which means on shore trades, whereas, Aruba sailing is all off shore, which is thermal and trades.
Aruba winds are very strong and gusty, Bonaire is on the lighter, more steady side.

My experiences have been that the winds are usually consistent starting in the spring and getting stronger in the summer (May-July), but fall and winter months the winds are much more risky. My general recommendation is plan your trip sometime after february, but before (and avoiding) August.

Bonaire is a dream for learning and relaxing sailing. a fun place.

-Noel.
