To Mike Godsey:
I understand that these sites work with a deep marine layer, why does Rio blow before San Luis or vice versa. What other conditions besides troughs and temperature differences (especially a cooling trend in the valley) affect these conditions?
Also, any chance of forcasting for Rauls or San Clemente.
Thanks,
Mike A. in San Diego |

Most of the time its actually fairly simple:
Check out hourly pressure at:
http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/afos/SFO/SWR/SFOSWRCA
Oneill Forebay:
Check Watsonville -> San Joaquin Valley (Hanford,Modesto, etc.) pressure.
For Delta:
Check San Fran Airport -> Sacramento AirPort pressure.
General pressure guidelines:
.04 - .07 5.8 & up
.08 - .11 5.0 - 5.5 conditions
.12 - .19 4.2 - 5.0 conditions
.20 or > Bring dinky shit
The pressure can be killer between SF & Sac while its sucking eggs from Wat - San Joaquin. That is why one sometimes blows and not the other...
