I agree. Ive got to leave home by about 3:AM to catch dawn patrol in the corridor, and would sure like to see some pretty wind charts first.

I am an FX member and I agree that the meters should be turned on earlier. It makes it very difficult to decide where to go when you are trying to sail at the break of dawn. I will contact iWindsurf on this.

If I am not sleeping to check the wind, the sensor shouldnt be sleeping either.

here, here! specially on those spots where it often blows all night
looks like sherman island is turned on
a bit earlier these days... something like 5:30 am. still, earlier means better for the dawn patrol.

Folks,
Short answer - it would cost too much to have the sensors reporting all day and night across the country. If you need earlier reports, you can call up the wind sensors themselves. In SF Bay, Wireless/Pager members get access to the phone service, and in the Gorge, FX/Web members get access to the phone service. (Due to a technological limitation, we cannot offer phone service to all of the FX customers in the Bay Area - only the Wireless customers.)
hope this helps explain things,
~George
