Axxis 258

Is there any difference between the models of the Axxis 258 over the years that it was made. Theres one listed that is in my price range, but its out of state...its a 1995? I know the 1996 version and later is great.

also any differnces in construction, i.e. like Mistrals CGI vs CHS construction?

The first year the 258 was released, it got huge reviews from Wind Surf mag. I do not know if the design has changed over he years.

I used to have one: it is a fast board, pretty narrow but not that good in strong chop. It changed over the years: the second edition is much more like current boards: higher rocker, a bit wider.. better for waves!

This is what I know. I had a Axxis 258, I am pretty sure it was a 95. This was a pretty flat board, and fast. I sold mine since I sailed in chop, and wanted a more wave oriented board.
So, I bought a 97 Axxis 262, which is radically different from the 258. It is a convertible, that has good rocker for more bump & jump conditions. It is great in small waves too.
F2 still has the Axxis, but I think its 261 now.

So I am pretty sure the Axxis 258 you are looking at is a nice board, for flatter conditions, but I sailed it in chop, with care not to dump it nose first.
