Seeing as how this website is now the big brother of wind information, why dont you turn the attention of one or more of your meteorologists toward the southern California coast. I mean, whats the deal anyway? Why do forecasts only go as far south as Jalama? Just down the road a piece is Leo! Do all northern Cal. sailors have it out for us here in Malibu? Is sothern Cal. just too difficult to forecast? Is Mike Godsey really a snivelnose wind miser who wants to hush hush any signs of decent wind in southern Cal.? What ever happened to plans for a Heuneme sensor? Is southern Cal. being perceived by all as a windless, smog filled, urban wasteland? When will the north/south loathing end? Will we all eventually have to move to the bay area in order to sail consistantly? I ask you, when will the Northern Cal. wind snobs make amends?!!!

To David, and all So Cal Sailors--
We know there is plenty of great sailing in So Cal! In fact, the weather pattern lately has been giving you guys some great wind while the SF Bay has been relatively calm! We intend to provide forecasts for So Cal in the not too distant future. It wont be right away, since we are expanding our forecasts nationwide and it takes time to get coverage everywhere! But, stay tuned.

I think that a bunch of us will really appreciate some forecasting for Southern California. I am sure that we will all appreciate some forecasting that ranges from Jalama to Seal or even better all the way to San Diego. Please do not forget Lake Isabella. Any ideas on when?

I must agree with salth2o, the original message was obviously meant to be at least half toungue in cheek. I for one found it to be somewhat entertaining. Does having no sense of humor go hand in hand with living in northern cal.? But on the other hand, it would seem that holmes is right about the forecasts; would it really be that difficult to mention socal once in a while? anyway, it seems the real snivelnose has made himself known.

At least on the pager version, Mike Godseys forecast is covering Lake Isabella fairly regularly, as well as Arroyo and Jalama. And Cabrillo is pretty easy to forecast: on average, 85% of the days in a month it will blow in the 17-22 (average) range.
