We all know summer is almost constantly sailable in Maui. We also know there are generally less waves then. To those who have spent time there in Spring -- how do the conditions compare to summer?

spring is definitely the time to catch some good wave sailing. fall can be pretty good too and if you live there winter has some serious swell action although the wind is hit or miss. i was there in february and had one excellent day of waves and wind but im figuring on better odds of both at the end of this month.

The waves are coming less and less frequently now, but there are still some swells. I sailed logo-high Kanaha on a 4.2 about 10 days ago, one of the best days Ive ever had!

The trades are consistent in the springtime, before the big southern hemisphere lows start to build. Once summer gets here, its almost TOO windy. Id say spring and fall are about the best sailing times of the year here on Maui. The wind is reliable and steady, and there are still some good northswell days to be had.
