Hi Gang,

See July 30 update image below. As you can see in the Crissy Cam the massive reconstruction project on the Anita Rock sensor is finally underway.

From last week: The USCG Sector San Francisco will be removing and completely reconstructing the slowly failing Anita Rock aid to navigation. The Coast Guard is helping Weatherflow with boat rides and they are excited to continue working with us. At this time it looks like building the Anita Rock aid to navigation will take 3 days or so … basically through the end of next week.

Stuart will be flying to San Francisco on this Sunday, July 26th and will remove the Crissy Field/Anita Rock weather station on Monday, July 27th. Stuart will return on the weeks of August 3-7 to San Francisco to reinstall Crissy Field/Anita Rock.

The weather station will NOT exist on the iwindsurf, ikitesurf, Sailflow, Fishweather web sites and apps for about 10 days.

Thank you for your understanding of this critical repair. During this time we will make a special effort on the Crissy forecasts.

15:15 min. into this video you can see Stuart pointing out our Anita Rock sensor and how the Nav. Aid is tilting.

Anymore info on the rebuild, will the spalling concret be repaired etc?

Spalling—sometimes incorrectly called "spaulding" or "spalding"—is the result of water entering brick, concrete, or natural stone. It forces the surface to peel, pop out, or flake off. It's also known as flaking, especially in limestone. Spalling happens in concrete because of moisture in the concrete.

Hi Riptide,

Yep, there is a spalling issue that increases the corrosion of the internal structural rebar. Worse is the foundation issue.

We need a higher tide and weak wind to do the sensor work and I would guess the Coast Guard needs perfect conditions for the Nav. Aid repair.

Hopefully, conditions will allow a prompt repair so we can reinstall our sensor.

Barges were gone by the afternoon and I sailed by it, looked like the entire metal structure was replaced and bolted to the cement base.,
