Bard, I've been losing weight for some time now. About 23lbs since mid-February, but I could lose even more to get back to my perfect weight.

Where did you start, and what's the lay of the land right now?

Needless to say, we're all battling the clock and doomed to getting older. Getting hurt later in life makes everything about recovering so much tougher.

Cut the carbs...give up beer...eat smaller portions. Fruit, nuts and non-carby veggies, and avoid processed foods. We all know it's calories burned. Burn more than you eat, lose weight. Exercise too. The trick is the make it a lifestyle, not a temporary diet. Drink lots of water and it's ok to be hungry. You don't have to satisfy your every craving. Once in a while is fine, not every day.

TOPLINE In a crisis exacerbated by a shortage of healthcare workers and a lack of virus-curbing measures from the state’s Republican leadership, North Dakota is battling the highest Covid-19 mortality rate in the world, with 1 in every 1,000 residents now dead from the virus.

This pattern is repeated, somewhat less severely, in many Republican states. Can anyone explain why anybody voted for Republicans that made ignoring the threat of the virus their only coherent policy?

Almost agree with everything there but...don't give up beer!

Be careful about letting yourself feel hungry. The older I get the more I notice lack of physical and mental performance when I am not fully nourished. It's okay when you are young or if you plan on being sedentary but otherwise you need the fuel to stay active and fit! Laughing Laughing Laughing

I traded beer for wine Smile I agree about not under eating. I tend to eat more, and some carbs, to fuel up for bike rides and consecutive windsurfing periods. But on the "off" days, I don't eat as much and avoid the carbs.

I know. First this attempt by the GOP to subvert the election and then this crazy talk about giving up beer. What is to become of our nation?

So what's next for him, the Nobel Peace prize for medical science? Rolling Eyes
Awards have become such bullshit.
I'd love to say "unbelievable!", but unfortunately it's believable.

Folks like NW and mrflu don’t understand the difference between liberty and license. The libertarian movement used to have some intellectual backing. Now itis just contrarian narcissism.

I think Rudy should get the Emmy for multiple roles .. His my cousin Vinnie piece from Thursday , and his audition at the Four Seasons , or his porn scene in Borat ..

And now America’s mayor admits to lying during last Thursday’s debacle ..

Ironic that NW would use a Dracula theme for Cuomo. Everyone knows that Rudy is America's Dracula.
