Thursday:West winds 25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 45 kt. Seas 4 to 7 ft. Chance of rain.

Looking for a safe spot to sail in eastern Long island sound. Hammonasset is good but not for me if it's gusting to 45kts!!! Smallest sail is 4.2. Was thinking Barn Island / Watch Hill area perhaps. Anyone else interested?

Sounds like the spot. I have to be in the Boston area tomorrow. Heading there early to try to beat the commute. Thinking of sailing in Marblehead.

i will be at west meadow. Low tide is 8am. going to ride the incoming tide. should be awesome.

If you are not familiar...there are a series of sandbars parrallel to the shore. You can sail the inside in flat water (in 30+ winds, and 2 feet deep), or sail more to the outside in the waves...and still be only 4 feet deep.

If you are in Boston tomorrow and not worried about such high wind come to Pleasure Bay. You know it is flat and super safe. For me this kind of wind is too much of a good thing, but if it is under 30 would like to go there as well

sailed solo for 2 hours at Devereux. Some of the wildest conditions I have been in. Came in when the 4.0 was too much and decided to move to Deer Island. Sailed there for another 2 hours on the 3.5. Should have rigged the 2.8. Conditions were wild in the harbor channel with the tidal rip.

Lot of wind damage in the area. Blew up to hurricane force last night.

Car looks like I went skiing on a snowy day. Sea salt.
