Hope there's some info on WHY, plus a plan to quickly address?

Height of the season and we need all the info we can get given Eddy's constant harassment.

Thanks, David

Hi David,

It looks like it was a software glitch. The HTML in the Classic iwindsurf.com is ancient and it is amazing it still works with modern browsers. Fortunately, there are still some retired coders in old folks homes we can call upon to fix hand code bug fixes.

Likewise, the vacated derelict old H's Lordships building has uncertain access for any sensor repairs due to liability issues. Remember that our new Berkeley Reef sensor has so useful information for the Berkeley-Pt. Isabel area.

Fast fix, thanks!

Glad us Geezers are good for something, even if in old folks homes..... Smile

I do look at the Racetrack sensor as a helpful indicator of where the wind is likely to be at PI - over by Brooks/Shimada or over by the radio towers/Albany Bulb.

However, given Eddy's persistence and fickleness, I believe it isn't that helpful for what's actually at the launch, either at PI or His Lords. Plus Eddy changes things even after you launch.

I use Royce/Toll Plaza sensor for the same purpose with respect to His Lords.

This year in particular there appears to be much less consistency across that region - as you've noted in some detail.

Anyway, thanks again for quick action to iWind and you.

Cheers, David

I concur David!

This season more than any other in the past the East Bay North to South wind can be the difference between planing or slogging in as little as a half mile.

A lot of us old timers like to sail within paddling distance of the launch in case of the inevitable die off. Heading out to say the Berkeley Reef area from HLS or PI for a session to only find out there is no wind for the return trip is not an enjoyable situation.

The winds location has become very specific these days.

So why is this the gustiest season of memory? NW winds have always been gusty, but now the SW winds are as well.

The sensor stops updating early afternoon for some unknown time. In the evening, it would display full readings. Please Fix ASAP.
