OBX, Hitting fish with my fin

Hit a dolphin once. Guess they may turn their echolocation off at times. Certainly they are swift and agile enough to keep away from most fast moving objects. I was certainly not trying to hit it. Could not see the pod until I had passed them after the bump.

I have 6 silhouettes of alligator gar on the back of my formula board. That's the number of kills on Dallas area lakes over the years. Don't live there now, but the sizes ranged from a couple of feet to four or so. Immediate launch over the nose of the board and sliced fish floating nearby. Never a damaged fin or board. Gar tend to surface and roll in late summer when the water temperatures are at their warmest.

No kills at the OBX where I now sail, but not sailing a formula board either.

Luckily, I missed the fish, and the fish missed me! Multiple people have been speared in the ankles/calves by jumping gar fish. Yikes!
