I tried foiling for the first time today at ABK's clinic, and got up a dozen times. I'm hooked. Next week at Tiana they'll be adding foiling to their full curriculum of windsurfing instruction. Check it out!

Sept 21-23 at Tiana Bay

As an older (as opposed to exerienced) windsurfer, I can't say enough positive things about the ABK camps I have attended. The first was about 25 years ago in California on the Delta where my teenage son and I learned the basics. Fast forward 25 years and without any more lessons my son is a competent Gorge sailor while I am still struggling with the planing jibe and am unable to tack a board under 100Liters. Now after two ABK camps in the last year, I am planning on nailing the full planing jibe before I hit 70 years old, and the clock is ticking on that one. Both Andy and Brendon are amazing teachers, and I am continuing to learn a lot from them. I wasn't even interested in foiling, but one day without enough wind to plane, and a board and foil unused on the beach I gave it a spin. I got hooked in no time, and find that the Flyer 280 is a great way to learn to foil without experiencing a painful learning curve of crashes. ABK Camps are all over the country, so do yourself a favor and sign up for one.

You'll get it! May I suggest adding the duck jibe to your goals. Learning the duck (Andy Brandt taught me) helped me solidify the board and rig control that keeps me planing through step jibes. Go for it!
