Would you say they flush a lot? Are they comfortable when fit tight? Toe pain is a problem for me when I size them to my foot rather than tow width. |

They don't seem to flush a lot relative to what I'm used to. These are my first with a strap above the ankle. They are so minimal, just neoprene really, that they are very stretchy. I think they run right on shoe size. I don't like split toe at all. Most of my sessions are 1 hour max so tolerable. I can feel the split toe pulling at my #2 toe when I'm pressuring the board. I got mine 1 size too big I think, so they are not tight.
My biggest issue really is the very thin sole. Tender feet. Also if you are sensitive to cold my guess is these aren't warm enough for you.

Might roll the dice on the Solites. They are having a sale. |

I'm sold on the ATANs. They only last about a season before the soles get a little 'gooey", but they're comfortable and have great board feel. I just buy a new pair each spring. _________________ Brian S

They have an available kevlar sole now, but not in the split toes. I'm tempted by a pair to compare. |

Got in my first session with the Solites. I ordered 1/2 size down from my shoe size and that was about right although the big toe pocket was a little small (this is a common complaint for me). I did the heat molding and they definitely changed shape but I think I should have just kept the hot water localized to the toe box since I gained some unneeded room in the heel.
In the area I sailed there is a long walk over pavement, crushed rock, driftwood and finally barnacles. The soles so far show zero wear which is favorable compared to other surf booties I've used.
On the water they are the warmed 3mm I've ever used. 5 hours yesterday in 50 degree water without any complaints. The upper seals keep them from flushing extremely well.
My footstrap sizing feels like it could be reset down close to bare feet and I wasn't stuck at any point (a previous frustration). I think the material for the shoe section will also not cause the strap wear I've seen with other booties.
Time will tell on the durability front but if they last 12 months I'll get another pair next year. I'm hoping to also get some Atans for comparison.
