This is classic.
The reduction in the deaths due to CV is because efforts are being made to reduce the death rate. The potential seriousness of the pandemic did not change. There has just been success at reducing the effects.
Isobars argument is like saying. “See, cigarettes were not that dangerous after all” after smoking rates and the resulting death rates have been cut in half due to education.
The same will be true of GW. Greenhouse gas emissions will be cut, the earth will not warm as quickly, and some will claim the problem was not as great as predicted.
Applied math is a lost skill. |

Are the implications of the coronavirus models' drastic overestimate and downgrading of the death tally completely lost on them? |
How 'bout this...Trump intentionally overestimates CV deaths and takes full credit for fewer deaths due to his "actions" and claims victory in the war against the "invisbile enemy". Huh? Wadda ya think? Pretty good? Not out of the realm of possability when considering Trump and his win at all cost mentality. |

The CV models included the effects of mitigation. They were simply wrong. Source: Fauci and Birx. Watch the pressers. |

It was World Malaria Day last Saturday. I wrote this last year...........
mrgybe wrote: | World Malaria Day today. About 220 million cases a year which devastate families' income, cause birth defects and miscarriages, and severely disrupt children's education thus maintaining/ worsening the cycle of poverty. Nearly half a million deaths a year, 50% of which are children under 5. Just one of the long list of priorities which are more pressing than the statistical potential for global warming. |
and.........
mrgybe wrote: | a follow up to the ominous question........how many will be killed by the global warming driven cyclone in India? Latest information.... about 29. A terrible tragedy for the affected families, but let's give some context;
- that's 5,999,971 less than those in India alone affected annually by malaria in the years following the DDT ban in the 70s
- it is 3,399,971 less than the numbers who die every year from contaminated water.
- it is 3,999,971 less than those who die annually from using charcoal, crop waste and animal dung for cooking
There are many more examples of huge numbers suffering and dying right now from actual, not hypothetical problems.
People and entities who are successful know how to prioritize and allocate resources using facts not uninformed emotion. Remember that next time you hear a Presidential wannabee, or anyone else with an agenda, telling you that global warming is the number one threat facing the planet. |
Context matters (got it CB?). As I have said here many times, health issues globally are a far more pressing issue than a hypothetical threat from global warming. Now that the principle Covid alarmists seem to be shifting their attention to other matters, hopefully they will have leaned that lesson from this recent experience, and will also have learned that the world doesn't sit on its hands when faced with a threat, waiting for the doom to envelop it. |

Correct, but China is the biggest net contributor to the world's air pollution..
.
"Among infectious diseases, water- and foodborne infectious diseases and vector-borne infectious diseases are two main categories that are forecasted to be most affected. The effect on vector-borne infectious diseases such as malaria and dengue fever is mainly because of the expansion of the infested areas of vector mosquitoes and increase in the number and feeding activity of infected mosquitoes. There will be increase in the number of cases with water- and foodborne diarrhoeal diseases." |

Also correct, however I would have used the word 'and' instead of "but". |
