A load of logs apparently came loose near Bingen at 1:00 pm today (5/26) and started floating down the river uncontrolled. This is obviously a dangerous situation. Has anyone seen them on the river?

Yes at about 11 AM. Tug was chasing it down at 1 ish, and looked like it was successful retrieval. Good news is log barge was huge--i.e. you see it way before you might hit it.

Thanks ericandholly. Sounds like the raft did not separate.

Yes it did separate, at 2pm I saw sections of 5 or six logs, as well as individual logs going by west of the White Salmon. The tug went up and down looking for them after that, but I saw it from the Hatch on it's way back and I couldn't see that it had collected anything.

Hopefully they are all at the dam by now. Yesterday I did see a lot of wood debris in the water at Stevenson but not logs.
