FWIW, Mark Nelson is still shaping custom boards and also CNC'ing boards for other shapers. He's got a place in the Cannery on Maui.

I've got three friends who've had Mark build them boards, and they all love them (at least in Maui conditions). _________________ Brian S

The name on a hull does not tell the whole story. I've loved some Thommen (and Bailey, and many other shapers'] boards and disliked others intended by the same shapers for the same sailing style. What I want a board to do does not always match the shaper's goals, as MANY buyers of MANY custom and off-the-shelf boards have learned. The shape counts much more than the name. |
