Quote:
Trump’s White House had been infamously volatile with a series of high profile departures. Bannon had regularly been involved in infighting with other top aides and rumors of his potential dismissal swirled at multiple points. Kelly became White House chief of staff late last month after the departure of his predecessor, Reince Priebus, the former Republican National Committee chair, who had a tense relationship with Bannon. Though this shift saw Bannon lose one of his rivals, Kelly, a former Marine general, was tasked with instilling order in the chaotic West Wing and cracking down on leaks. Kelly reportedly immediately zeroed in on Bannon as a source turmoil and leaks about internal disputes leading to fresh speculation about the chief strategist’s standing.

See the stinging masterpiece of a resignation letter the President's Arts Committee sent to Trump
Quote:

Dear Mr. President:

Reproach and censure in the strongest possible terms are necessary following your support of the hate groups and terrorists who killed and injured fellow Americans in Charlottesville. The false equivalences you push cannot stand. The Administrations refusal to quickly and unequivocally condemn the cancer of hatred only further emboldens those who wish America ill. We cannot sit idly by, the way your West Wing advisors have, without speaking out against your words and actions. We are members of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities (PCAH). The Committee was created in 1982 under President Ronald Reagan to advise the White House on cultural issues. We were hopeful that continuing to serve in the PCAH would allow us to focus on the important work the committee does with your federal partners and the private sector to address, initiate, and support key policies and programs in the arts and humanities for all Americans. Effective immediately, please accept our resignation from the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.

Elevating any group that threatens and discriminates on the basis of race, gender, ethnicity, disability, orientation, background, or identity is un-American. We have fought slavery, segregation, and internment. We must learn from our rich and painful history. The unified fabric of America is made by patriotic individuals from backgrounds as vast as the nation is strong. In our service to the American people, we have experienced this first-hand as we traveled and build the Turnaround Arts education program, now in many urban and rural schools across the country from Florida to Wisconsin.

Speaking truth to power is never easy, Mr. President. But it is our role as commissioners on the PCAH to do so. Art is about inclusion. The Humanities include a vibrant free press. You have attacked both. You released a budget which eliminates arts and culture agencies. You have threatened nuclear war while gutting diplomacy funding. The administration pulled out of the Paris agreement, filed an amicus brief undermining the Civil Rights Action, and attacked our brave trans service members. You have subverted equal protections, and are committed to banning Muslims and refugee women & children from our great country. This does not unify the nation we love. We know the importance of open and free dialogue through our work in the cultural diplomacy realm, most recently with the first-ever US Government arts and cultural delegation to Cuba, a country without the same First Amendment protections we enjoy here. Your words and actions push us all further away from the freedoms we are guaranteed.

Ignoring your hateful rhetoric would have made us complicit in your words and actions. We took a patriotic oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Supremacy, discrimination, and vitriol are not American values. Your values are not American values. We must be better than this. We are better than this. If this is not clear to you, then we call on you to resign your office, too.

Thank you,

a northern evengelical never heard of church leader quits... but note no southern one does. In fact one of the un-religious ones supported and backed trumps hate talk.

Megachurch pastor resigns from Trump’s evangelical council
Quote:

In a first for the council, New York City pastor A.R. Bernard announced that he had stepped down from the unofficial board of evangelical advisers on Tuesday, the day the president made controversial comments about Charlottesville.

he is so embarrassed that he can not even go to honor events... He needs to resign when he can not do simple presidential honorary duties....

He is like NK and other dictators he will only go where his Nazis can kill people for protesting. Bet he wants to hire Blackwater for all events...

Trump, first lady to skip Kennedy Center Honors over concerns of ‘political distraction’

Quote:
The announcement came after three of the five honorees for the arts awards said they would boycott a White House reception over the president’s handling of Charlottesville.

It's just a matter of time before he resigns. The rate he is going it should not be long, as the hole he is digging gets deeper day by day. Every time he opens his big mouth he makes a fool of himself. Clearly he is demented.

Be careful what you wish for Mr. slinky, Trump doesn't need this job, and
it's easy to see the battle between his Ego and his desire for "patriotism"
going to his Ego (or its salvation). Then you have President Pence.
Is that really what you want?

I'm not sure he's demented, but I think the estimates of his intelligence
are about 90 IQ points off (and not in a good direction). I'm not certain
intelligence is a prerequisite for the presidency though. Personally
I'd rather see ethics as a prerequisite, but I doubt we'll see either
in any candidates the current parties are likely to promote in the future.
Maybe it's not good for the country to have a commander in chief
with those qualities ;*) the current system appears to promote what we have.

Fed chair Yellen rejects Trump’s approach to Wall Street regulation

Quote:
Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen offered a forceful defense of broad new banking regulations enacted after the 2008 financial meltdown, saying the rules safeguard the economy against another crisis and rejecting assertions from President Trump and top aides that they should be rolled back. Her speech comes as Trump considers whether to reappoint her to a four-year term as head of the U.S. central bank.
