Looks as though it will be a big day up on Champlain tomorrow. Winds are forecasted to be 25-40 mph.

Woohoo! I'm thinking about heading over to Plattsburgh for the first time. Sounds like a great scene over there!

Any one else planning to sail the Lake this weekend? If so, where?

The wind is up this Friday (tomorrow). Not the weekend.

Yes, I'm planning to go to Plattsburgh on Friday, but would also like to sail over the weekend if anyone is heading out. Very Happy How about you?

Seems that NWS has dropped the forecast a tad. Was 25-35 kts yesterday, now 15-25. Strongest early.

Hi Andy
Suggest State Beach for waves and the Straights (aka Rocky Beach) for rollers

Once off the ferry and on the highway take a left to get down to the lake
Once there you will be able to spot the the different sites.

I plan to sail in Burlington off the sailing center in the afternoon. I can't sail on Saturday. If it is windy on Sunday I will sail again from the Sailing Center.

Hope you guys have a blast! I moved from Burlington to Dallas last fall and miss sailing on Lake Champlain. I lived on Shore Rd and sailed out of the neighborhood beach association next to Leddy Park. Probably not the best location but I could store my gear in the boat house, so it was very convenient. South winds were always strong but the chop and shore break can get rough. West winds are smooth, thanks to Appletree point, but rare.

Shred it up guys/gals! Almost decided to drive up from CT early this morning, but changed my mind. Now I am regretting the decision. Will have to wait until Sun/Monday in RI.

Hope to see some nice video posts on Youtube!

Andy
Hope you were able to get out yesterday. I sailed from another "south" launch area. The swells were great.
