It's open, but the high water leaves little room for rigging or hanging out. |

And the mosquitoes are getting horrendous. And high water at Mosier usually means chop from hell. |

The water level has dropped, and there is a beach. Mosquitos are not as horrible anymore. Please contribute to the parking pass box. Please be respectful of others on the beach, whether kiting, windsurfing, or playing with your dog/poop-machine (i.e. pack out YOUR poop). Wind sports and dogs are very cool, but you are not the Center of the Universe. (not certain if there is a Center.) |

Good point! We've heard some loud, angry, prolonged, repeated, near-physical fights over dogs'/owners' rights (hint: there are virtually none) at Roosevelt. Gear gets damaged by claws or pissed on, owners stake out territory with dogs on 30-foot leashes (the limit is 6 feet), people have been bitten (reporting a bite to the state is mandatory), friendships have been frayed, and owners are at risk of losing their dogs (two formal complaints, rational or not, of simple fear -- let alone a bite -- involving any particular dog within the state borders of Washington = swift mandatory euthanization.)
My dogs have gone dirt biking, skiing, snowboarding, WSing, shopping, 4-wheeling, camping, and more with me ... often off leash even overnight ... for many decades ... but not since I moved to Washington. Be careful, responsible, and considerate out there. |
