|
|
Many of us have gone home after a great session only to find that we left some piece of gear behind, so we run back to get it before it disappears. But leaving the whole trailer behind??!! This trailer has been sitting in the Kalmus lot for a couple of weeks at least, with no gear on it & lock missing. I'm wondering if it was stolen with gear, then dumped here?? Does anyone recognize this trailer? Maybe we can reunite it with its owner?

Even funky older repurposed homemadish trailers - like mine - may have a VIN# typically on a plate on the tongue, assuming it hasn't be pried/rusted off. That VIN# is on the trailer registration, so the Hyannis police or DMV could easily find the owner.... if you can find the VIN number. I'm not close to Kalmus, or I'd help you.

Looks a modified boat trailer . The hitch is newer , and moved on top of the frame section. Stickers are missing from the frame. Vin could be gone with the front section of frame removed.
Be really odd to steal it with gear and dump where windsurfer are..duh
The axel may be broken , wheel bearings frozen , some reason it's there and none are good

At some point the town will tow it, find the vin f they can, and send a big bill to the person who dumped it there. Hard to abandon a vehicle and get away with it.

Dawg,
please take this thread down.
It's starting to freak me out.
i don't know whether it's because the thing is parked next to the Fairy Forest, or the drab color with no stickers, or the fact that two drywall screws could fix the chipboard sag.....
but there is something really disturbing about this...hauntingly familiar.....did i see this trailer in Hatteras once? Maybe it is the end of windsurfing as we know it

Yep, I swear I've seen that trailer before, too. Could be Hatteras, as I go there almost every April. Alot of thoughts, very curious !
