It would be great to connect with a few of you at Matunick over the weekend. I am there if I know I will not be alone!

Never sailed Matunuck in a northwest wind. Does not look like it would work well being side- off with gusty, holey on and off winds. Anyone done it,if so how was it? Surf forecast looking pretty good though.
Last time there was decent surf on a weekend, deep hole lot was full before noon with tons of surfers everywhere so better get there early.

Disclaimer: I have little hope for sailing Saturday due to aforementioned manadory kid day-killing activities (not family-provider fun)
Of couse: "Proud we are of all of them'....The Junior Achievers
If truly West, Rhody may not be so much fun for the surfers, but i'm not sure that will keep the hordes away from the parking lot....I'm not seeing NW or WNW....but Horseneck can hold WNW.
Unless of course the kiters who lurk here pull one of their group-gropes with boardshorts over their 4/3's and chicken straps etc
That having been said, i surfed Cape last nite, and there is a new SE swell filling in for the lovely Nicole
I will sail Sunday on whatever is left Probably at Horsesweat
Oh Yeah....Anyone else interested in Heading to the Meadow tommorow?
Might involve a little pouring rain and lightning, but the setup is otherwise pretty good

Outcast, I hear you on Saturday. Wife wants to have a family day, and I have a somewhat broken foot so maybe a good idea. My right foot isn't going into a strap soon but the sealion might work ok. Only if its NW though. West will be too punishing.
There will be very few surfers at Matunuck if its west, maybe one or two lost souls. It can be fun on a west, but ocean swell mixes with wind swell, 90 degrees apart. Due west is slightly side off so a little gusty. I shot some photo's on a 30kt westerly last year, fun day, but people commented that it didn't look fun from the photos. (A bit Gorge'y if I can coin a word)
NW and WNW is clean waves but more gusty than NE at that venue. I have had NW windsup days that were great with most windsurfers giving up and one or two superhuman windsurfers doing well.
Matunuck has been crazy busy this fall, some blame it on the new surfline camera. Heard lot was full at 6:30 am one day last week.
