the long range forecast for the cape shows west winds coming next weekend. is there a good flat water spot for west winds on or around the cape? |

Not sure. The forecast right now is W to WNW 30-40 mph on Sunday, which most likely will change. Maybe Barnstable on an incoming tide. I could see that being pretty flat. I have done it long ago in a big storm....

For due west winds, Hardings beach in Chatham, is good. If it's strong wind, it won't be flat. Kalmus and West dennis are somewhat sailable in west winds, will be choppy, if low tide would be easier than Hardings, which is deeper and gets more swell.
WNW you would goto the North shore, Cape Cod bay. Chapin would be the flatest, but need to be 2 hours either side of high tide. Also Skaket would be an option, with Corporation being the place with the most swell in Nw or Wnw. |
