Weather pattern in the Atlantic next week is making it ripe for almost a due north track of Matthew (currently Invest 97L) and could be close call or direct hit to New England. Looks as though he will be tracking westward in the Caribbean until reaching about Hispaniola/Cuba and then get pulled northward in a trough. Keeping my fingers crossed for storm force winds.

Hoping for a warm-up session this Friday at Scarborough to test my (new-to-me) 2006 Fanatic Newwave, which I bought from U2U2U2.

Makes me want to go buy a generator. Wed looks like a good wavesail per this map. Saw Thursday forecast at 26ft at 15 seconds at one point today. JP

Well I hope you get the wind. The Fanatic link, brings back a lot of memories in testing. The 5 fin bonzer set up, never worked much . It may be really fun as a twin.
Tri or quad should be very good.

Thought I would share this:

Matthew's eye went directly over this buoy (42058) in the Caribbean Sea.

Talk about symmetry in winds just before and after eye crossing... 942 Mb as eye went over.

Strap down the dog and secure the BBQ. Matthew's path seems very resolved. High pressure to the east appears victorious. Matthew march up the East Coast seems inevitable. Stay safe everyone.

Thanks for sharing the graph. That is really interesting.

Nothing of consequence headed toward Lake Erie Wink

Looks like we're bound to see wind from this one. Hope it's not like Sandy and Gloria. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/graphics_at4.shtml?5-daynl#contents

Major change in forecasted track. Matthew may do a complete loop and head back to Florida for a second visit as he gets stuck due to a building high to the north and east. Hopefully a new trough will establish itself to bring him back up the coast around the middle of October.

Crazy. Has that ever happened before.

What happens if Matthew runs into Nicole?
